James Gunn's upcoming 'Superman' movie to grace streaming platforms; release date announced
Get ready, superhero fans! The Man of Steel is making a comeback, and this time, he'll be gracing our screens exclusively on HBO Max.
The highly anticipated Superman movie, inspired by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's All-Star Superman comic, is set to premiere on Friday, Sept. 19. The film promises an action-packed adventure that's sure to thrill fans old and new.
In this new iteration, David Corenswet takes on the iconic role of Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan bringing Lois Lane to life. Milly Alcock stars as Supergirl, while Skyler Gisondo steps into the shoes of Jimmy Olsen and Wendell Pierce portrays Perry White.
The movie also features appearances by the Justice Gang, including Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Ed Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl. Fans of DC's Peacemaker and Rick Flag Sr. will be excited to see John Cena and Frank Grillo in cameo roles.
But that's not all. Superman's loyal canine companion, Krypto, will make his big-screen debut in this movie.
For those interested in catching the movie on linear television, Superman will debut on HBO on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
HBO Max offers three plans: Basic with Ads for $10 a month or $100 annually, Standard for $17 a month or $170 a year, and Premium for $21 a month or $210 a year.
