Jaden Rashada expresses his eagerness for joining Sacramento State's football team.
College Football's Wandering Quarterback: Jaden Rashada's Journey to Sacramento State
After a tumultuous college football career, including a lawsuit against Florida football, talented quarterback Jaden Rashada has found a new home at Sacramento State. This marks Rashada's fourth stop as a college athlete, a journey that might just come to an end with the northern California school.
"Sac State's offense is super quarterback friendly," beamed Rashada, eager to express his excitement about joining the team, as reported by CBS Sports. "High tempo, throw the ball. I'm pretty excited about that."
With limited game time at Arizona State, Georgia, and Florida, Rashada now eagerly anticipates his opportunity to claim a starting spot at Sacramento State. The school, transitioning from FCS to FBS in the near future, presents an intriguing prospect.
Sacramento State coach Brennan Marion has made it clear that he sees Rashada as a valuable addition to the team. "We are definitely in on (Jaden) being our guy," Marion stated. "For us in every room, we want guys who can be draft picks, starters, and stars."
Rashada, a former five-star recruit, finds himself embroiled in controversy stemming from a lawsuit linked to his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) privileges with Florida football. This issue, often referred to as NIL in college athletics, has gained significant attention during his football journey.
Although Rashada last played for Georgia, he was never given a chance to take the field. He views this setback as a stepping stone towards finding the perfect fit and the right coaching scheme. "I learned a lot there," Rashada shared. "Being able to get your feet wet at first and come in and sit last year, I was itching to play football. Not only that, but being in the right fit and the right scheme with the right coaches. That's what was most important."
In his college career thus far, Rashada has posted 485 passing yards, earning four touchdowns and three interceptions in the process. Despite the numerous challenges he has faced, Rashada remains optimistic about his future with Sacramento State and aims to turn the page on the controversial past.
Sacramento State football opens their season in August against South Dakota State. Having been more selective in his transfer decisions, Rashada will look to make an impact and claim his rightful place in the college football spotlight.
