"Jackson manufactures the iconic metal guitar design that guitarists have desired for decades, reintroducing Randy Rhoads' Rhoads V guitar in its premium American Series"
In the world of metal music, the Rhoads models from American Series by Jackson have made a comeback, marking a significant moment in the history of guitar innovations. The new Rhoads guitars are now available in two formats - RR24 and RR24HT - and three stunning finishes: Snow White, Matte Army Drab, and Satin Black.
The return of the Rhoads V guitar model to Jackson's factory in Corona, California, was initiated by Mike Shannon. This move harks back to the early 1980s when the Rhoads guitar was born out of a collaboration between Ozzy Osbourne and Grover Jackson.
The American Series Rhoads guitars are engineered for players who demand uncompromising metal tone and performance. They boast an offset V alder body, a 12"-16" compound radius ebony fingerboard, and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets. The guitars are built with Luminlay side dots, Gotoh MG-T locking tuners, Sharkfin inlays, and a through-piece design that comprises a graphite-reinforced three-piece maple neck.
Jackson has expanded the Rhoads lineage further with the addition of the Virtuoso. The American Series Rhoads HT model features a hardtail Hipshot bridge, while the regular version sports a recessed 1500 Series Floyd Rose. The flagship Rhoads puts a distinct Randy-designed spin on the V template.
The high-end American Series Rhoads models have been unveiled, featuring USA-made Seymour Duncan JB and '59 pickups. The RR24HT model is available now for $2,729, while the RR24 is priced at $2,849.
This comeback is a nod to the "golden era of guitar innovations" as Jackson recently launched the Pro Origins 1985 San Dimas range. The Rhoads, one of metal's most enduring and beloved guitars, continues to stand the test of time, making it one of the most iconic electric guitars in the history of music.
