Jack St. Ivany undergoes successful hand surgery, out 8 weeks for Penguins

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Jack St. Ivany has undergone successful surgery on his left hand. The procedure took place at UPMC Mercy Hospital, with doctors confirming a smooth operation. Recovery is expected to take around eight weeks.

St. Ivany has been a steady presence on the Penguins' blue line this season. In 17 games, he has contributed seven assists, helping the team's defensive and offensive play.

The surgery was carried out by Dr. John Fowler and Dr. Dharmesh Vyas. Details about the exact date of the operation have not been disclosed, but the Penguins organization announced the news through general manager Kyle Dubas. Team medical staff have confirmed the procedure went as planned.

The 24-year-old will now focus on rehabilitation, with a projected return in roughly two months. His absence leaves a gap in the Penguins' defensive lineup, but the team remains optimistic about his full recovery.
