The "KloppoCar", a Mini adorned with over 160 portraits and football motifs dedicated to Liverpool's charismatic coach, Jürgen Klopp, has been making waves in the football community. This unique vehicle, now a mobile testament to Klopp's life and football passion, began its journey last spring in Dresden.
The car's branding is the work of "Traffic Art", a tram driver from Dresden, who has meticulously decorated the Mini with images of Klopp as a youth, his first coach, his successes, and his failures. The car's transformation was a labour of love, with each portrait and motif heavily based on Klopp's biography.
The "KloppoCar" team took special care to honour Klopp's friendships and football allegiances. A portrait for Campino, the lead singer of the German band Die Toten Hosen and a known Liverpool supporter, is already ready on the car, positioned above the left headlight. However, as of now, Campino has not signed the car, but is expected to do so soon.
The first person to sign the car was former DDR and BRD national player Ulf Kirsten. Since then, nearly 800 individuals, both prominent and less prominent, have signed the car. Club president Ute Groth and performance center director Marcus Italiani gathered with a group of self-confident female footballers for a photo with the KloppoCar.
The car now features portraits of over 160 female football players in addition to the previously mentioned portraits. This is a reflection of the over 160 players who train at the performance center for girls' football according to a coordinated concept. From U13 upwards, the teams train three times a week and receive medical care.
The photoshoot for the "KloppoCar" ended with battle cries and the realization that the German women's football team has won more titles than the men. This is a significant nod to the growing influence and success of women's football.
Upon seeing the car in its new guise, Klopp is reported to have said, "There's my whole life on there, I'll probably have to buy it back sometime." The "KloppoCar" is a testament to the love and admiration that fans have for Klopp and his dedication to football.
