The 27th edition of the Festival Vins & Histoire de Terrebonne took place at Île-des-Moulins from August 8 to 10, 2025. This festival, presented by the SAQ and organized by La nouvelle société, featured around 50 exhibitors offering more than 450 products for tasting, including renowned Quebec vineyards such as Rivière du Chêne, Léon Courville, La Cantina, Domaine des Côtes d'Ardoise, and Domaine de Lavoie.

Chef Martin Juneau, a chef, author, and TV host known for his passion for wine and gastronomy, served as the festival's new spokesperson. He inaugurated the event during a festive opening night on Friday, welcoming attendees with fine bites and wine.

The festival highlighted Quebec products and included a variety of activities such as wine and cider tasting conferences by sommeliers Samie Pépin and Marie-Hélène Boisvert, a humorous talk on wine adventures by magician Alain Choquette, conferences on Quebec cider history by Catherine Ferland and on Quebec wines by Mélanie Gore, director of the Conseil des vins du Québec, and opportunities to immerse oneself in the heritage of Terrebonne with historical information and musical ambiance.

The event combined discovery, conviviality, and celebration of Quebec's terroir with tastings, presentations, and a lively atmosphere. It was an engaging, multi-day event dedicated to wine, history, and Quebec's local products, featuring chef Martin Juneau as its new ambassador along with numerous exhibitors and educational experiences.

Meanwhile, in Griffintown, a new Mediterranean restaurant named KAVA Montreal has opened its doors. Chef Keren JL, who has trained in starred establishments, is at the helm of the kitchen, offering a fresh menu for dinner and supper, with dishes inspired by the flavors of the Amalfi coast to the Greek islands. Mezze options at KAVA Montreal include bar tartare with tiger milk, shrimp and zucchini arancinis with béchamel sauce, beef keftas with Greek sauce and pomegranate ketchup, and marinated watermelon, feta, and pistachio salad. KAVA Montreal's decor was designed by Pero Studio and Tania Perreault.

Current promotions at KAVA Montreal include oysters at $1 each on Tuesdays, a table d'hôte menu on Wednesdays, and a festive brunch on Sundays from 11 am. Alain Choquette, a master of illusion and wine enthusiast, will be present at the festival on a specific Sunday.

The 17th edition of the Quebec Public Markets Week is ongoing and ends on August 10th. The event invites people to come closer and shop at public markets, which can be found on the mangeonslocal.ca website.
