Italy Welcomes First Ecuadorian Professionals Under New Migration Program
Italy and Ecuador have launched a circular migration program, offering 255 temporary jobs to Ecuadorian professionals. The initiative, named 'Health Mobility Pilot', is the first group of workers to be sent to Italy under this scheme. The program aims to promote orderly and transparent migration, ensuring dignified labour conditions and workers' rights.
The program, which mirrors a similar initiative between Ecuador and Spain, will initially focus on healthcare and industrial mechanics professionals. The first group consists of nursing professionals, who will be hired by Italian companies for up to one year. The selection process is based on candidates' qualifications and Italian language skills. Participants can reapply for new job opportunities in Italy upon returning to Ecuador. Ecuadorians are valued in Italy for their strong work ethic, community principles, and family values. Italy issues a decree every three years to organize the flow of immigrant workers, including Ecuadorians, under this circular migration program.
The 'Health Mobility Pilot' program is a significant step towards promoting orderly and dignified migration between Italy and Ecuador. It offers Ecuadorian professionals temporary job opportunities in Italy, with the potential for reapplication upon return. The program reflects the value Ecuadorians bring to the Italian workforce and aims to foster further cooperation between the two countries.
