Italian Design Giants Eye Saudi Arabia's Growing Luxury Furniture Market

Salone del Mobile.Milano is set to host its first Saudi event in November, while prominent Italian design brands are planning to open showrooms in Riyadh by 2026, reflecting Saudi Arabia's growing demand for luxury furniture and its ambitious Vision 2030 plans.

The furniture market in Saudi Arabia is booming, with a value of approximately 6.1 billion euros in 2024 and projected to reach 8.1 billion euros by 2030. This growth has caught the attention of Italian design leaders, who are eager to tap into the Saudi stock market as part of its economic diversification strategy, Vision 2030.

Minotti has already established a foothold in Riyadh, opening a showroom in downtown. The showroom, designed by Minotti Studio, features works by regional artists and designers such as Naqsh Collective, Muhannad Shono, Nasser Al Salem, and Helidon Xhixha. Molteni&C is also set to open in the King Abdullah Financial District this year, joining Minotti.

Other Italian design firms are following suit. Boffi|DePadova and Giorgetti plan to open showrooms in Riyadh by 2026, joining existing showrooms of Fendi Casa and Roche Bobois. B&B Italia, Poltrona Frau, and Cassina are also planning to establish showrooms in the Saudi market by 2026.

The growth in Saudi Arabia's furniture market, coupled with its Vision 2030 plans, is attracting Italian design leaders. With the furniture market expected to reach 8.1 billion euros by 2030 and the country aiming to attract 150 million visitors by 2030, creating demand for new hotel rooms, the stage is set for these design brands to thrive in the Saudi stock market.
