Ita Airways joins Miles & More to expand global rewards for flyers

Ita Airways is switching its frequent flyer programme to Miles & More from April 1. The move will give its passengers access to a much larger network of airline partners. Existing members can also transfer their current status to the new system through a status match offer.

The transition begins on April 1, when Miles & More officially replaces Ita Airways' existing loyalty scheme. All 39 million current Miles & More members will then be able to earn and redeem miles on the airline's flights. Full integration, however, will not complete until December 2026.

Passengers joining the programme will benefit from a partner network of 35 airlines and over 135 additional partners. This expansion significantly broadens the options for earning and spending miles compared to Ita Airways' previous standalone programme. Details on the airline's current flight destinations remain unclear in the latest updates. The focus instead has been on the upcoming integration and the advantages for frequent flyers.

The switch to Miles & More will connect Ita Airways to a global rewards network. Travellers can start registering from April 1, with full benefits rolling out by late 2026. The status match option ensures existing members retain their earned privileges during the transition.
