"Issues with sound system at DAZN during Bayern Munich's opening match in the Champions League"
In a disappointing turn of events, streaming service DAZN encountered significant audio issues during their broadcast of FC Bayern Munich's Champions League match against FC Chelsea at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening. The game, which was one of DAZN's most important games in September, was set to be the highlight of the pre-match coverage led by host Laura Wontorra and expert Michael Ballack. However, the audio problems dominated the discussion, causing a less than ideal start to the broadcast. One user provocatively asked, 'Hey @DAZN_DE, can you manage to broadcast a game without major audio issues this season?' as many fans expressed their frustration on social media. Another user wrote, 'The audio issues on #DAZN are quite bad,' while another commented ironically, 'Just got DAZN to watch Bayern against Chelsea. Straight away, audio issues.' The audio issues included loud background noise and overpowering stadium music, making the interview with Bayern's sporting director, Max Eberl, barely audible. It took four minutes for DAZN to resolve the issues, but by then, Max Eberl had already left the interview. After kick-off, the voices of commentator Jan Platte and expert Michael Ballack still sounded slightly metallic and distorted. Despite the audio issues, DAZN recently secured the Bundesliga conference rights, and the match was broadcast live on DAZN 1 TV channel and streamed on DAZN. Most other Bayern games this month are on their competitor, Sky. DAZN apologized for the audio issues during their pre-match coverage, and we hope they will work to improve the quality of their broadcasts in the future.
