Israeli political representative Idan Roll from Yesh Atid party announces his departure from the Knesset.

Idan Roll, a renowned Israeli politician, lawyer, and former model, served multiple terms as a member of the Knesset between 2019 and 2025. Initially, he was a member of the Yesh Atid party before becoming an independent MK in 2025.

During his tenure, Roll made significant political contributions, particularly in the realm of foreign affairs and diplomacy. He was elected to the Knesset on the Yesh Atid list in the 2019, 2021, and 2022 elections, retaining his seat each time.

From 2021, while Yesh Atid was part of the governing coalition, Roll was appointed as Deputy Foreign Minister, making him the youngest government member at that time. In the 25th Knesset (from 2022), after Yesh Atid moved to opposition, Roll served on key committees, including the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and the Subcommittee on Foreign Policy and Advocacy.

Roll chaired several friendship groups to promote international relations, notably between Israel and Italy, San Marino, and from July 2024, the Parliamentary Friendship Group between the Knesset and the U.S. House of Representatives.

In January 2025, Roll left Yesh Atid to form his own parliamentary caucus called "National Majority," acting as an independent MK. On August 10, 2025, Roll resigned from the Knesset and retired from politics, with Adi Azuz replacing him.

Throughout his political career, Roll focused on strengthening Israeli advocacy and building diplomatic ties with international leaders. He was committed to voicing unpopular positions out of a deep commitment to Israel and the Jewish people. Roll also called for bringing home all hostages from Hamas captivity.

Moreover, Roll combined liberalism with a firm stance on Israel's security. He worked tirelessly to deepen the Abraham Accords in the fields of technology and innovation. Roll's political contributions have left a lasting impact on Israel's international relations, especially with Western allies like the U.S. and European nations.

As the nation awaits the return of hostages with broken hearts and weary eyes, Roll hopes for a broad Zionist government in the next elections, uniting old and new political forces. His legacy in Israel's foreign affairs and advocacy continues to inspire and influence the political landscape of the nation.

In his role as a Knesset member and Deputy Foreign Minister, Idan Roll actively worked on strengthening Israel's international relations, engaging in diplomatic efforts with various countries such as the United States, Italy, and San Marino. Despite leaving Yesh Atid to form his own caucus, Roll remained committed to voicing unpopular positions and advocating for policies related to war-and-conflicts, political issues, and general-news, particularly the return of hostages from Hamas captivity.
