The Israeli army has announced its plans for a significant operation in the city of Gaza, with the primary objective being the destruction of Hamas's underground tunnel system. The takeover, while expected, has not yet occurred, and no specific date has been provided by the Israeli army.

The city of Gaza, serving as the primary stronghold of Hamas, is expected to be the focus of this operation. In preparation for this, Israeli troops are already present in suburbs such as Al-Saitun and Djabalija.

The operation is likely to involve the displacement of civilians, with estimates suggesting that approximately one million people may be affected. The displaced civilians are expected to move to tent camps further south, and the Israeli army has pledged to ensure the supply of medical aid and food for these displaced individuals.

International aid organizations are collaborating with the Israeli army to ensure the smooth provision of humanitarian supplies to the refugees in Gaza's camps. UN agencies such as UNICEF, OCHA, UNOPS, UNRWA, WFP, and WHO, along with numerous NGOs like Anera, Alliance Sud, Caritas Switzerland, HEKS, Medico International Switzerland, Solidar Suisse, Swissaid, Terre des Hommes, and others, are involved in this effort. However, many of these organizations face administrative obstacles from Israeli authorities.

Hamas, despite being displaced, still maintains "operational capabilities" and is capable of waging a "guerrilla war." The organization has not yet commented on the anticipated operation.

In order to execute this operation, the Israeli army plans to mobilize approximately 50,000 reservists, with around 120,000 reservists expected to be deployed in total. The reservists will begin their service in September.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has been repeatedly highlighted by human rights organizations, making the potential displacement of civilians a matter of significant concern. The Israeli army has not specified the purpose of the takeover, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the operation.

As the situation in Gaza continues to evolve, it is crucial to monitor the developments closely and ensure the safety and well-being of the civilians involved.
