Air Force of Israel strikes Houthi strongholds in Yemen - Israeli military conducting aerial strikes on Houthi strongholds in Yemen.

In the wake of a rocket incident close to Tel Aviv's airport, Israel's military fired back at Houthi positions in Yemen. The targeted Houthi assets contribute significantly to the group's income, as per Israel's army claims. For instance, Hodeidah Port in the west of the country facilitates the transport of Iranian weapons, and an eastward concrete factory was attacked, which the militia utilizes for constructing military infrastructure. By weakening the economy and military preparedness of the Houthi, this assault crumbles their means of power.

These attacks serve as a follow-up to the Yemeni militia's consistent attacks on Israeli territory with rockets and drones, as stated by the military. A Houthi rocket struck near Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport on Sunday. Following this, Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened the Houthi with a "sevenfold response." In retaliation, the Houthi threatened to continue hindering air traffic to Israel.

Buddy System: Israel Teams Up with the US

"ynet" news outlet reported that the evening's large-scale assault was executed in cahoots with the United States.

Al-Masirah, a TV channel sympathetic to the Houthi, reported assaults by the US and Israel on Hodeidah Port. The cement factory, located about 50 kilometers east of Hodeidah in the city of Bajil, was also targeted.

Witnesses in Bajil confirmed to the German Press Agency (dpa) that intense explosions rocked the city. Smoke and fires were spotted above the factory. Ambulances rushed towards the factory area, with fears of casualties among the locals.

Yemen's Eternal Battle

The US military has targeted Houthi militia structures in Yemen for months, with the stated objective of safeguarding international shipping in the Red Sea. The Houthi frequently attack commercial and military ships in the area, and they seek to end these attacks only after the conclusion of the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, which is supported by Iran. It has been four months since Israel last attacked targets in Yemen.

A decade-long civil war rages in Yemen, leaving the nation almost fractured. The Iran-backed Houthi militia controls sizeable areas in the north, including the capital Sanaa and Hodeidah, while the internationally recognized government rules the south.

  1. Israel's employment policy for its military personnel may need to be revised, considering the increasing frequency of counterstrikes against Houthi positions in Yemen.
  2. The community policy in Yemen should address the impact of War-and-Conflicts, such as the recent air raid on Hodeidah Port and the cement factory in Bajil, on the general population's income and access to essential services like transport.
  3. Politicians worldwide should discuss the employment policy implications of ongoing wars, as seen in the case of the Houthi's use of a concrete factory for military infrastructure, causing its destruction in an air raid.
  4. The United Nations, in its efforts to resolve the ongoing Yemeni conflict, could consider including provisions for rebuilding essential infrastructure, like transport facilities and factories, in peace agreement discussions to combat the economic effects of War-and-Conflicts on a local community.
