Israeli leader Netanyahu reinforces commitment to station troops within Gaza region
Harsh Words, Blunt Action:
Benjie Netty (a.k.a Netanyahu) didn't mince words when he declared war on them Palestinians outta Gaza. On the X network, he made a bone-chilling statement, "We're not pullin' out after pumpin' in. That ain't the game." He described the new operation as a "full-throttle" mission, involving displacement of the population south of the enclave, along with "massive assaults" against Hamas.
The Israeli security squad, overseeing the Gaza Strip offensive, gave the nod this mornin' to pump up the pressure on Gaza and restart humanitarian aid for the people, which has been blocked since March 2nd.
"This is the Chief of Staff's recommendation: move forward, and he's sayin' it himself, aim for Hamas' annihilation. I'm walkin' the same line. We ain't backin' down on this, and we ain't leavin' any of 'em behind. That's the deal," Netty added.
Fifty-nine hostages, with Israel estimatin' only 24 still livin', are still held by Hamas. In recent weeks, Hamas offered to send 'em back in exchange for the complete Israeli troop withdrawal. But Netty's different story; he wants to wipe out Hamas—savin' hostages might just be a bonus.
This new Israeli mission could drain the brakes on another temporary ceasefire, what the hostages' families are hopin' for.
Netty spoke up about the necessity of examinin' Hamas' attacks on Israeli soil in October 2023, but only after the war ends.
The Israeli army spokesperson, Effie Defrin, sounded off about the offensive against Gaza, sayin' it involves "a major strike and shiften' most Palestinians to a Hamas-free zone." Aerial bombardments would continue, terrorists would be offed, and infrastructures would be destroyed. Havin' the hostages back in Israel is also part of the plan.
Defrin mentioned the "Rafah model", referrin' to the recent occupation of the city borderin' Egypt and neighborin' neighborhoods, which the Israelis call a "buffer zone." This model involves steadily swallowin' parts of Gaza into the "security zone" once they've destroyed all of Hamas' facilities.
Ever since the Israelis broke the ceasefire with Hamas on March 18th, they've been poundin' Gaza daily with aerial attacks. Now, almost 30% of the Gaza Strip is part of the "security zone," the Army recently announced.
"Hamas made a joke and still don't get our resolve. Hamas orchestrated a bloody attack against us, and it's Hamas who's hurtin' the folks in Gaza," the Army spokesperson stated.
The conflict ignited by the Palestinian Islamic group's attacks in southern Israel on October 7th, 2023, led to around 1,200 civilian deaths and 250 hostages. In retaliation, Israel launched a military operation in Gaza, resultin' in over 51,000 deaths, mostly women and children, and leavin' the territory in shambles with nearly its entire population displaced.
The parties are convoyshin' with international mediators—Egypt, Qatar, and the U.S.—for a new ceasefire and the release of hostages, but negotiations have stalled.
