Basketball Euroleague: Games back in Israel from December - Israeli Basketball Returns to EuroLeague: FC Bayern Munich to Visit in 2026

In a significant development for Israeli basketball, EuroLeague Commercial Assets (ECA) clubs have agreed to resume international competitions in Israel after a hiatus of over two years. The season will restart on December 1, 2023, with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv hosting home matches in Belgrade, Serbia, and Sofia, Bulgaria, respectively. Notably, FC Bayern Munich will travel to Israel twice in early 2026 to face Israeli teams.

The new schedule, finalised at a meeting in Barcelona, sees FC Bayern Munich visiting Israel on January 29, 2026, to take on Hapoel. The German giants will return to Israel on February 12, 2026, to face Maccabi Tel Aviv. While the agreement does not specify a match between FC Bayern Munich and an Israeli team in the EuroLeague in January 2026, a notable game around that time is the clash between KK Partizan and Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv on January 23, 2026, although this does not involve FC Bayern Munich.

The return of international basketball competitions to Israel is a major boost for the sport in the region. Fans can look forward to watching their teams compete against top European sides in the EuroLeague and EuroCup. The visits of FC Bayern Munich in early 2026 promise exciting encounters and further elevate the profile of Israeli basketball on the global stage.
