The Gaza Strip, a small coastal region on the Mediterranean Sea, lies between Israel and Egypt. With a population of over 2 million Palestinians, this territory is governed by the organization Hamas, which has been embroiled in a conflict with Israel since 2023.

The Gaza Strip is dependent on food supplies from abroad, yet allegations have been made that Israel has restricted these supplies, leading to food shortages and malnutrition among the Palestinian population. This situation has been further exacerbated by the war between Israel and Hamas, which has resulted in the near-destruction of the Gaza Strip and the death of tens of thousands of civilians.

Hamas, a Palestinian organization that follows Islam and aims to eliminate the Jewish state of Israel, has been accused of taking 250 people hostage to the Gaza Strip. As of now, 130 of these hostages remain captive. The protesters in Israel demand that their government takes more action to ensure Hamas releases all hostages.

The Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has faced criticism from several countries, including France, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Portugal, due to its military actions in the Gaza Strip. These countries have called for a two-state solution and increased humanitarian aid amid criticism of Israel's war strategy and civilian casualties.

Recent developments include Israel's reported withdrawal of soldiers to prepare for attacks on the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip. The United Nations has reported many tens of thousands of people have been killed by Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, with over 30,000 Palestinians dying from these attacks.

In Israel, there are protests against the government, with citizens demanding better protection of the border and more action to secure the release of hostages. The protesters believe that the government has not done enough to protect the border and ensure the safety of its citizens.

This ongoing conflict has led to a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, with many houses destroyed and the population struggling to meet their basic needs. The international community continues to call for a peaceful resolution to this conflict and an end to the suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip.
