Israel launches assault on Iran's Defense Ministry and oil storage facilities.

In a bold move, the Israeli military claims to have launched a series of attacks on Iran's nuclear program, with the Iranian Defense Ministry in Tehran reportedly among the targets.

Insights The attacks aimed to degrade Iran's nuclear capabilities and military leadership, with specific targets including the Esfahan Nuclear Technology Center, missile launch sites, and government buildings. The strikes also targeted Iran's energy infrastructure, including oil depots.

The Israeli Air Force is said to have bombed infrastructure facilities of Iran's nuclear weapons project and oil depots in the Iranian capital, according to the military. The series of attacks has been completed, as announced on Telegram overnight.

The targets included the Defense Ministry of the Islamic Republic and the headquarters of a state-run atomic research organization. The Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that one of the buildings of the Defense Ministry had been "lightly damaged" in an Israeli attack.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz wrote on Twitter, "Tehran is burning," following reports of an oil depot in the Shahran district being hit. The Iranian portal SNN reported that the situation was under control. Videos from Iranian media showed burning oil tanks billowing thick smoke.

Katz had previously threatened that Tehran would burn if there were further Iranian rocket strikes on the Israeli civilian population. There were at least six deaths and several injuries in Israel from new waves of attacks.

Since Friday night, Israel has targeted Iranian sites, including nuclear facilities, military figures, nuclear scientists, defense positions, cities, and reportedly also oil and gas fields. Iran considered the air attacks an act of war and fired hundreds of rockets and drones at Israel.

The ongoing exchange of attacks has raised concerns about a broader conflict, with both sides showing no signs of relenting. Israel's air campaign is expected to continue, targeting key Iranian military and nuclear capabilities.
