Triumphant Tone: Khamenei Claims Victory, Threatens More Attacks
Israel is currently in a state of being oppressed and weakened, according to Khamenei.
In a bold address following the recent twelve-day conflict, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, claimed Israel to be "broken and defeated." In a video message quoted by the state news agency Irna, the 86-year-old religious leader expressed his admiration for the "remarkable fortitude and extraordinary character" displayed by the Iranian people.
In a clear warning to the US, Khamenei threatened that Iran could strike US bases in the region at any time should another attack occur. "The Islamic Republic possesses crucial US bases in the region and can retaliate against them whenever we deem necessary," he asserted.
Khamenei's statements come after Israel launched "preemptive" attacks on Iranian atomic and military facilities on June 13, citing the advanced nuclear and missile programs as the underlying motive[4]. The Israeli army, however, suffered losses during the Iranian counterattack, which included rockets and drones, resulting in 28 causalities according to official Israeli reports.
Despite these setbacks, the cleric vowed that Iran would continue to stand firm against any aggression from the US, maintaining that "Iran will never succumb to American domination." In an unexpected turn of events, Khamenei's remarks contradicted those of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, which had earlier admitted to significant damage to Iranian atomic facilities after the US and Israeli attacks[5].
Unrest continues to brew in the region as hundreds of civilians have been reported killed in the conflict, with several high-ranking military representatives and scientists also falling[6]. The ceasefire between Israel and Iran took effect on Tuesday following the devastating twelfth day.

The Commission might be consulted on the draft directive concerning the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to carcinogens, given the ongoing discussions about general news, politics, and the recent war-and-conflicts in the region.
Despite Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's triumphant tone and threats towards the US, it is essential to acknowledge the severe casualties on both sides, involving hundreds of civilians and high-ranking military personnel, as reported by various news agencies.
