Israel hatred deep-seated in antisemitism and spiritual turmoil, claims Huckabee
In a recent visit to Gaza, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, accompanied by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, inspected the humanitarian aid situation in the region. The visit was initiated by President Trump, who expressed a desire for firsthand reporting on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
During the visit, Huckabee highlighted the efforts of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a U.S. and Israeli-backed private aid organization. According to Huckabee, the GHF is delivering over one million meals daily, with more than 100 million meals served in just two months. He described this as an "incredible feat," emphasizing that the priority is feeding civilians rather than Hamas.
The delegation toured GHF distribution sites in southern Gaza, including Rafah, gathering briefings from the Israeli Defense Forces and local personnel to assess the humanitarian situation firsthand. The visit aimed to provide President Trump with an accurate understanding of aid operations on the ground to help inform plans for delivering food and medical assistance to Gaza's population.
However, despite these accounts, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire. Reports indicate massive casualties and a serious crisis of food, fuel, and medical shortages due to Israel's restrictions. Israeli officials, including Netanyahu, deny a policy of starvation, asserting that aid delivery continues and that no starvation is occurring.
Huckabee also criticized Western media portrayals of the situation in Gaza, stating that they present a different picture than what is actually taking place. He accused major Western outlets of repeating misinformation from Hamas. Furthermore, he pointed to the vast tunnel network under Gaza and accused Hamas of diverting funds meant for humanitarian development towards terror infrastructure.
In addition, Huckabee accused European governments of rhetoric and lack of tangible humanitarian contributions to Gaza. President Trump has stated that the fastest way to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is for Hamas to surrender and release the hostages.
The visit by Huckabee and Witkoff underscores the complexities of humanitarian aid amid the conflict and the ongoing efforts to deliver aid to the people of Gaza. The U.S. officials' visit sought to counter international concerns about starvation and highlight the work being done by the GHF.
