Israel continues with air raids.

Thunderous explosions have shaken the streets of Tehran, with eyewitnesses reporting disturbances in various parts of the metropolis. The Israeli military is reportedly behind these attacks, and the citizens of Tehran's third district are urged to flee due to the escalating situation. In response, Iran has called for swift evacuation of residents from Tel Aviv.

The third district, measuring around 30 square kilometers, is home to numerous embassies, shopping centers, and luxury residential areas accommodating nearly 300,000 people. Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee warned that military installations in the area will be heavily targeted "in the coming hours."

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for the residents of the entire Tehran area to evacuate, stating, "We're progressing towards achieving our two objectives: dismantling the nuclear threat and neutralizing the rocket threat." He further emphasized that if Israel managed to seize control of the airspace over Tehran, it would hit crucial targets within the regime.

The death toll since the conflict surfaced Friday sees an increase, with 24 Israelis fatalities and 224 Iranians, most of whom were civilians, according to health authorities. Israel claims to have intercepted at least 7 of the rockets fired by Iran, causing injuries to about 100 people. The ongoing skirmishes between the two nations bear ominous signs of a prolonged standoff, potentially concerning the stability of the whole Middle East region.

Political Insights

Iran has remained unwavering on nuclear discussions. however, the intensifying Israeli strikes might cause a reconsideration of Tehran's stance. Some Iranians speculate that the Israeli attacks could mark the beginning of the downfall of the Islamic regime, though this remains to be seen.

International players such as Russia and the United States are closely monitoring the conflict, with Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump reportedly discussing potential mediation. The United States has dispatched additional forces to the Middle East, including the USS Nimitz carrier strike group and fueling tanker aircraft, over concerns about potential engagements and the preservation of US interests.
