Latest Developments in Gaza Strip After UN Resolution

After the unfortunate events in the Gaza Strip, 18 individuals were reportedly killed in a house bombardment in Nuseirat, according to Hamas. This incident was followed by continuous artillery attacks by the Israeli army in various areas, including Jabaliya, Chan Junis, and Deir al-Bala, leading to various casualties.

The Israeli military announced the "elimination of terrorists" on Friday evening and shared footage of their operations in ruins. Unfortunately, their operations resulted in the death of five more soldiers since Friday, bringing the total number to 144 since their ground offensive began on October 27.

In response to the ongoing conflict, the UN Security Council called for extensive humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza while enabling 'safe and unhindered' delivery of aid on a large scale. The resolution was supported by 13 of the 15 UN member states, with the USA and Russia choosing to abstain.

Despite the UN's call for an immediate ceasefire, Israel has maintained its military operations against Hamas, aiming to wipe out the Islamist Palestinian organization. Foreign Minister Eli Cohen announced that Israel would persist in its war in the Gaza Strip until the organization was eliminated and all hostages were freed.

Additionally, Israel announced its commitment to controlling all humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip 'for security reasons.' However, the UN resolution did not specify that deliveries should be controlled exclusively by the UN.

Over 1.9 million people have been displaced due to the ongoing conflict, which has been ongoing for eleven weeks since Hamas launched a major attack on Israel on October 7. The attacks resulted in the death of around 1140 people and capturing approximately 250 people in Gaza.

According to Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health, at least 20,258 people have been killed so far, though this figure cannot be independently verified.
