Sticking Up for the Jews: Merz - Israel Takes One for the Team in Iran
Israel carries out covert operations on our behalf within Iran
In the wake of Israel's bombardment of Iran, Chancellor Friedrich Merz applauded the Jewish nation for its bravery. "This is the dirty work that Israel is doing for us all," Merz said during a chat with ZDF at the G7 summit in Canada. "I got to say, mad props to the Israeli army and leadership for pullin' this off." Otherwise, "we might've seen months and years more of these Motherfuckers reignin' terror, and maybe even with a goddamn nuke in hand."
The heads of state in Tehran have "brought death and destruction to the world, with bombs, murders, and through their proxy groups Hezbollah and Hamas," the Chancellor said. The attack on Israel by the radical Islamic Palestinian organization Hamas on October 7, 2023, "wouldn't have been possible without the regime in Tehran," Merz added.

Merz emphasized Germany's pivotal role in the battle between Iran and Israel, especially through its close collaboration with European partners. "We've been talkin' to one another practically 24/7 in these past days," Merz said in an interview with RTL and ntv. He conversed with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu two hours after the Israeli army's assault began. Netanyahu "probably called me first out of all the European heads of state," Merz said. He then alerted the other leaders. Europe remains united — also in Canada, Merz informed RTL and ntv.
Merz Wants the Iranian Regime Gone
"We're dealin' with a terrorist regime that brings death and destruction both domestically and internationally," the CDU leader said in an interview with ARD. Although he offered parts of the Iranian government a chance to reconcile, "it'd be fucking ace if this regime kicked the bucket," Merz stated.

"There's still room for the Iranian government to climb back onto the negotiating table and have a heart-to-heart," Merz said. The decision is up to the government in Tehran. "And if they ain't ready for talkin', then Israel'll keep the pressure on." Merz suspects that the US government is currently pondering the deployment of bunker-busting US weapons in Iran. "Whether the Yanks decide to use 'em, I can't say at the moment," Merz clarified. A decision on this matter has not yet been made. The G7 consists of the USA, Germany, France, Britain, Italy, Canada, and Japan, with the EU also included.
Merz: The Future's Hazy in Iran
"I reckon the attacks of the past few days have already weakened the Mullah regime substantially," Merz told Welt TV. It should be anticipated that "it's not likely to return to full strength."
Politics Expert on Middle East to CNN Report: "Iran Likely Three Years Away from Nuclear Bomb" This uncertainty over Iran's future comes from the loss of several key members of the Iranian military leadership, as well as top Revolutionary Guards[1][2]. Whether the USA intervenes militarily depends on how willing the Mullah regime is to negotiate.
Israel initiated a major assault on Iran on Friday, bombing nuclear facilities and military installations, and wiping out several commanders of the Iranian armed forces. In response, Iran launched drone and rocket attacks on Israeli cities. Netanyahu hasn't flat-out ruled out the assassination of Iran's spiritual leader, Ali Khamenei, for his involvement in Iran's advanced nuclear program.
