The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that not only the Tehran facility but also two buildings of a centrifuge component workshop in the nearby city of Karaj were destroyed in the attacks. The IAEA cited information received from a yet undisclosed source, shedding light on the extent of the Israeli operation.
Israel considers Iran's nuclear program a grave threat to its existence and is is determined to counter these threats. Iran, on the other hand, denies any pursuit of nuclear weapons. The back-and-forth conflict continued overnight, with Iran launching two rocket salvos towards the Jewish state within less than an hour in response.
This recent development comes as tensions between Israel and Iran have reached boiling point in the past few months. From October 26, 2024, when Israel retaliated in airstrikes on Iranian military targets following Iran's missile barrage, to the ongoing Operation Rising Lion in June 2025, the situation between the two nations has escalated dramatically.
