Israel accused by UAE after 23 humanitarian aid convoys plundered in Gaza
Humanitarian Aid Delivery Faces Disruptions in Gaza Amid Ongoing Conflict with Hamas

Aid trucks loaded with essential supplies moved through the Kerem Shalom crossing between southern Israel and Gaza on May 22, 2025, as the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian militant movement Hamas continues. The photographs capture the delivery of humanitarian aid amidst the escalating tensions.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has accused the Israeli military of failing to secure humanitarian assistance convoys after 23 of its charity vehicles were looted in Israeli-controlled regions of Gaza. Concerns have been raised over the safety of such aid initiatives and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza.
UAE's humanitarian initiative "Gallant Knight 3" reported that 103 trucks carrying flour and other necessary bakery supplies entered Gaza on Wednesday. Unfortunately, only 24 of the vehicles were allowed passage, and just one successfully transferred its cargo to appropriate warehouses. The UAE attributes the failure to the Israeli army's insistence on risky delivery routes, which left the relief convoys vulnerable to theft and pillage within a "red zone" - an area under complete Israeli military control.
The loss of most of the cargo resulted in Gazans being deprived of critical food supplies. The UAE sees this as a deliberate obstruction of humanitarian efforts, and the mission has denounced the theft. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza could worsen if its 2.3 million residents are denied access to food and aid.
In light of these challenges, the UAE calls on the international community and relevant parties to urgently establish safe and secure humanitarian corridors to ensure that aid reaches its intended destinations without hindrance. The UAE reaffirms its support for the Palestinian people and promises to continue providing Gaza with essential aid despite the setback.
As relief organizations struggle to address logistical and security issues amid ongoing fighting, this event heightens concerns about the safety of humanitarian activities in the area.
