Isle of Man: Yellow Warning for Coastal Flooding on Nov 3, 2023

The Isle of Man Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for coastal flooding on the morning of November 3, 2023. The warning is due to a combination of strong winds and elevated tides, which could lead to minor impacts and inconvenience in coastal areas.

The warning is in effect from 7.15am to 11.15am, with sea water and debris expected to wash onto exposed coastal roads and promenades for a couple of hours around high tide at approximately 9.15am. Areas most at risk include Shore Road in Rushen, Castletown Promenade, the northern end of Douglas Promenade, Laxey, and Ramsey promenades. The warning is a result of strong south-southwesterly winds and high tides creating large waves around the island's coastline.

Drivers and pedestrians are advised to take extra care in these locations during the morning high tide. While no severe weather is expected, the yellow alert indicates that minor impacts and inconvenience are possible. The Isle of Man Met Office will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
