Isle of Man braces for hill snow as yellow warning takes effect Friday
A yellow weather warning for hill snow has been issued by the Ronaldsway Met Office. The alert covers the early hours of Friday, with light accumulations expected before conditions ease.
The warning will remain active from midnight until 8am on Friday. Snow showers are forecast for higher ground, while lower areas will see rain instead. By Friday morning, milder air should push in, raising the snow level and reducing the risk of further build-up.
It remains uncertain whether the snow will cause road closures or travel delays. Unlike recent winter weather reports from Iceland, Germany, Italy, and Sweden, this warning applies specifically to the Isle of Man.
The Ronaldsway Met Office has advised caution for those travelling in hilly areas overnight. Slight snow accumulations are possible, but the arrival of milder air is expected to limit disruption by morning. The warning does not extend beyond Friday's early hours.
