Isle of Man: Amber Alert for Severe Weather, Strong Winds and Large Waves

Residents and motorists on the Isle of Man are urged to exercise caution due to severe weather conditions. The Met Office has issued an amber weather alert for strong winds and large waves, active from 7.35pm to 11.35pm, affecting Douglas, Castletown, Shore Road in Rushen, and parts of Laxey and Ramsey. Sea spray and debris pose potential hazards, particularly on exposed coastal roads and promenades.

Earlier today, large waves crashed over Douglas Promenade around 9.30pm, causing concern among locals. The Met Office warns of moderate overtopping of sea water and debris in these areas. While no red weather warning has been documented for the mentioned locations, the amber alert serves as a reminder to take necessary precautions. Residents are advised to avoid affected routes and stay informed about any further updates.

The amber weather alert remains active until 11.35pm. Residents and motorists are urged to stay vigilant, heed the advice of the Met Office, and avoid exposed coastal areas to ensure their safety during this period of strong winds and large waves.
