Is there going to be a fourth season of "The Summer I Turned Pretty"?
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jenny Han, the showrunner and author of the beloved coming-of-age trilogy 'The Summer I Turned Pretty,' has not ruled out the possibility of a fourth season of the hit series on Amazon Prime. The third season, which arrived in July 2025, adapted the final book in Han's trilogy, titled 'We'll Always Have Summer.' The series follows teenager Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) as she gets caught up in a love triangle with brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). While Han did not provide a timeline for a potential fourth season, she emphasized that the story's ending should be satisfying for the fans. She stated that the decision to continue the series is all about doing what's best for the story. Amazon Prime has been supportive of Han's vision for the series, and she mentioned that she hasn't felt pressure to keep the series going just to keep it going. However, she also stated that a fourth season depends on whether she feels there is more story to tell. At the time of writing, Amazon has not renewed the show for a fourth season. The creators have not announced any official confirmation about another storyline or continuation beyond the existing seasons. The series is noted among upcoming shows for 2025, but specific details about season 4 have not been disclosed. If Han does have a great idea for the story, she expressed that she would be excited to continue the series. Other cast members in the series include Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Sean Kaufman, Alfredo Narciso, Minnie Mills, Colin Ferguson, and Tom Everett Scott. Any potential future season will have to go beyond the source material, as Han's trilogy has come to an end. Han emphasized that the story's ending should be satisfying for the fans, and it remains to be seen whether she will continue the story in a future season. Stay tuned for updates on the potential fourth season of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' on Amazon Prime.
