Club boss, Hainer, had this to say: "Thomas Müller is an absolute icon, deserving every bit of his fame. We all want him to spend his golden years with Bayern. We're in talks with him, and I'm confident. I believe Thomas knows the worth of Bayern, and we certainly value his talents."
Interestingly, Hainer also suggested the return of another Bayern icon, Bastian Schweinsteiger. "I'd love to see legends like Müller and Schweinsteiger rejoin Bayern in the future," Hainer shared.
Schweinsteiger, who moved to Man United for €9 million in 2015, spent two years there before ending his career with Chicago, is now being hinted at a possible return according to club boss Hainer.
Hainer further explained, "When a player like Müller has been playing soccer for so long, they need a break and some time to reflect after retirement. I believe Schweinsteiger is still in that phase."
President Hainer previously expressed his gratitude for Neuer's return: "We're ecstatic to have Manu back after his long injury. He's progressing well and showing signs of regaining his old form. He's the world's best goalkeeper and the clear number 1 for Germany's team."
