Is drunkenness the distinguishing factor between Vienna and its surrounding regions?
Living the Cabaret Life:
As a performer, you've got to be on the move. I've danced on stages from the heart of Vienna to the sleepy villages of the Waldviertel, and the contrast couldn't be more dramatic.
Vienna vs. the Waldviertel
The city center of Vienna is a bustling hive of activity. Tourists flock the streets, snapping selfies, devouring ice cream, and being the epitome of elegance in Louis Vuitton bags. The sidewalks are a melting pot of cultures, different languages, and characters - from businesspeople frantically chattering into their phones to folksy locals casually sippin' on a schnapps.
To reach the tranquil villages of the Waldviertel, however, takes a entirely different journey. The roads wind like a ribbon through the countryside, where foxes and hares are the only companions, grumbling about my arrival. The villages themselves are quaint little affairs, nestled around a town square, with a local tavern the only place to find action - and even that tends to be limited to an old woman carrying a bouquet of flowers and a lazy cat gazing down at the world from a wall...not to mention the trusty telephone booth that still rings with an old-school "Tuuuuuuuut" when you pick up the receiver.
Home Sweet Home
A small apartment, perhaps my first, is the canvas that sets the scene for my performances. There's a touch of romance in the unknown, like flipping through a telephone book and finding a place to call home. The performances themselves are a universal experience, no matter the venue. Whether performing for the well-versed Viennese crowd or a Waldviertel community that may be less familiar with cabaret, the shared laughter binds all together.
Party Time!
The ability to make people laugh and forget their troubles for a couple of hours is truly a gift. It's the perfect excuse to raise a glass, toast to good times, and, of course, endure the occasional hiccup!
I'm eternally grateful to be able to share my art, and look forward to continuing to entertain Austrians with my latest solo program "The Most Beautiful Day" and with the Comedy Shepherds.

- The fashion in Vienna's city center is a blend of elegance, with tourists donning Louis Vuitton bags, contrasting the casual attire in the quaint villages of the Waldviertel.
- The smaller apartment, possibly my first, is the canvas for my performances, regardless if it's for the sophisticated Viennese crowd or the less familiar Waldviertel community.
- The entertaining lifestyle in Austria provides the perfect opportunity to raise a glass, toast to good times, and share laughter with others, especially during my solo program "The Most Beautiful Day" and with the Comedy Sheherds.
- Even in the peaceful villages of the Waldviertel, the cellphone's "Tuuuuuuuut" sound can still be heard, denoting it as an essential part of the modern lifestyle, just like entertainment in these charming, off-the-beaten-path locales.
