Ireland's response was led by Orla Prendergast, who scored 51 off 34 balls, and Laura Delany, who contributed 42 runs. However, Amy Hunter was run out early in Ireland's chase, and Rebecca Stokell was left stranded at the non-striker's end with eight to win off five balls.

Jane Maguire's six made her the fourth woman on record to strike a six in an international innings, joining Udeshika Prabodhani (Sri Lanka), Ariera Tagilala (Fiji), and Sophie Ecclestone (England, who has done so twice).
