Operation Rising Lion has been launched by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to counter the Iranian threat. This operation allegedly targeted Iran's primary nuclear enrichment facility in Natanz and its ballistic missile program.

In a recorded video message, Netanyahu declared, "We are at a decisive moment in Israel's history...Moments ago Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military operation to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel's very survival."

Israeli security officials have claimed that the strikes could have eliminated Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, Iran's current Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. However, neither Iran nor Israel has officially confirmed Bagheri's death.

Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards Corps asserted that their top commander, Hossein Salami, was killed after the unit's headquarters in Tehran was hit, but this claim remains unverified.
