A Shakeup in the Middle East? Netanyahu Suggests Regime Change in Iran After Reported Intelligence Chief Death

Iranian Regime Overthrow Possibly Foreseen by Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister, hinted at the possibility of a regime change in Tehran, following reports of the death of a high-ranking Iranian intelligence chief. In a chat with Fox News, he revealed that he had briefed US President Trump about these developments before the attacks.

Emphasizing the Weakness of the Iranian Regime

In the interview, Netanyahu, without declaring regime change as Israel's official policy, hinted that it "could certainly be the result because the Iranian regime is very weak." He explained that ongoing cooperation with the US and the internal and international pressures on the Iranian regime are key factors.

Call to Action for the Iranian People

Addressing the Iranian people directly, Netanyahu encouraged them to seize what he described as a "opportunity" to challenge the regime. He emphasized that Israel's military actions are intended to weaken the Iranian regime, thwart its nuclear ambitions, and prevent its missile threats.

The Death of a Key Iranian Intelligence Figure

Netanyahu announced the death of Mohammed Kasemi, head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' intelligence unit, during Israeli airstrikes. He stated, "Just moments ago, we took out the chief of the intelligence and his deputy in Tehran."

In addition, Israel targeted military and nuclear facilities in Tehran, Netanyahu revealed, and destroyed a uranium enrichment facility in the Iranian nuclear site at Natanz. "We've destroyed the main facility in Natanz. That's the most important enrichment facility," he said.

Could We See the End of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei?

There have been whispers about an Israeli plan to assassinate Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader. However, reports suggest that Trump had previously rejected this proposal. A high-ranking US official was reported saying, "Have the Iranians already killed an American? No. Until they do, we're not even talking about attacking the political leadership."
