Vahid Hashemian, a 48-year-old former Bundesliga professional, has announced his return to FC Persepolis after over a dozen years since retiring from his active football career. The capital club based in Tehran, Iran, has appointed Hashemian as their new head coach, marking his first position as a head coach in a top-tier club.

Hashemian's coaching career began after his retirement from professional football. He started at Hamburger SV (HSV) Academy in 2017, initially as a coach before being appointed as the assistant coach of HSV U17 shortly after. In 2018, he was appointed as the U21 regional league team's youth coach by HSV.

In 2019, Hashemian took a significant step forward in his coaching career when he was appointed as an assistant coach for the Iran national football team. He served in this role until 2022.

Now, Hashemian is set to lead FC Persepolis, replacing İsmail Kartal. This appointment is a testament to Hashemian's international experience and youthful approach to coaching, given his relatively young age for a head coach role.

As a player, Hashemian had a successful career in the Bundesliga, representing Hamburger SV, FC Bayern Munich, Hannover 96, and VfL Bochum. He was nicknamed "Helicopter" during his playing days, likely due to his header strength.

With his appointment as the head coach of Persepolis, fans and football enthusiasts eagerly await the specific achievements that Hashemian will bring to the club. His background as a former player with experience in the Bundesliga and international football is expected to contribute positively to his coaching career.

This new chapter in Hashemian's career promises to be an exciting one, and fans of FC Persepolis are looking forward to seeing what the future holds under his leadership.

Hashemian's coaching journey in football extends beyond his time as an assistant for the Iran national team, as he will now lead FC Persepolis amidst European-leagues and Premier-League prominence, having previously played in the Bundesliga for several clubs. His expertise and experience in sports are highly anticipated to influence the club's success.
