Clerical agents from Iran suspected to be infiltrating German police forces, SPD issues security alert - Iranian Mullah agents reportedly warned against by SPD for potential infiltration efforts.

As Israeli military actions intensify, an influx of Iranian refugees is anticipated to seek asylum in Germany. The number of Iranian refugees expected to arrive in Germany in the coming weeks surpasses previous records, according to reports.

The SPD (Social Democratic Party) has issued a stark warning, suggesting that the Iranian regime may exploit this humanitarian crisis as a means to infiltrate its agents among the refugees. Sebastian Fiedler, the SPD's interior policy spokesperson in the Bundestag, expressed concern in Stern that the regime's Revolutionary Guards could seize the opportunity to infiltrate their own operatives disguised as asylum seekers.

Fiedler has also vocalized his opposition to the Greens' call for a ban on deporting Iranian refugees from Germany. "Last year, only 14 individuals were deported from Germany to Iran; in the first quarter of 2023, it was five," stated Fiedler. He notes that each case is meticulously examined to ensure that deportation is not a threat to the individual's life or freedom from torture. According to Fiedler, the current difficulties in deporting to Iran make it a low priority.

The Greens' Perspective: Halt Deportations to Iran Immediately

Filiz Polat, the parliamentary business manager of the Greens, urged an "immediate halt" to all deportations to Iran. Polat emphasized the need for providing protection to refugees fleeing persecution and war, stating, "People who have sought refuge with us must not be sent back to a dictatorship and war zone."

Understanding the Threat: Iranian Intelligence Agents Pose as Refugees

Reports indicate that the Iranian regime infiltrates refugees seeking asylum in countries like Germany by deploying intelligence agents or informants among them. These operatives disguise themselves as asylum seekers to monitor, intimidate, or gather intelligence on members of the Iranian diaspora who are critical of the regime. By doing so, the regime aims to maintain control over opposition communities abroad, suppress dissent, and ensure the safety of its own interests.

This form of infiltration creates challenges for German security services in protecting refugees, ensuring their safety, and preserving their freedom from foreign surveillance or intimidation. It is crucial for intelligence agencies to remain vigilant in identifying and preventing such infiltration while offering a welcoming and safe environment for refugees seeking protection.
