Cracking Down: Iran's Crackdown on Alleged Collaborators Amid Conflict with Israel

Iran announces series of detentions targeting alleged collaborators

Blame it on Mossad! According to experts, the orchestrated attack on Iran by Israel was made possible by the Israeli intelligence agency. Now, Iranian authorities are taking a hard stance, arresting suspected spies and collaborators within their borders.

In the heat of the conflict, Iranian media reported numerous arrests as the authorities hunt down suspected spies, so-called collaborators with their arch-enemy, Israel.

The northeastern metropolis and pilgrimage city of Mashhad was not spared. At least 18 foreigners, allegedly involved in producing and operating drones, were arrested, according to the news agency Tasnim, which is affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards. These suspects are believed to be Afghans and have been deported due to their activities near the border with Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, in the central Iranian city of Yasd, eight individuals were arrested for allegedly spreading "false news." Tasnim further reported that these suspected operatives were disturbing public opinion through online posts and siding with the enemy, Israel.

Experts believe that the large-scale attack on Iran is no accident, suggesting the Mossad have been gathering intelligence for the operation for some time before executing it. Mossad units were reportedly placing precision weapons, vehicles, and drone bases near rocket silos and air defense positions before the attacks.[1]

The conflict between Iran and Israel has been escalating, with Israel justifying the large-scale attack on the arch-enemy, citing Iran's advanced nuclear program. In a crackdown, Israel launched a series of attacks on Iranian atomic facilities, military installations, and high-ranking commanders.[2]

Under the crushing grip of oppression and information blockade, Iranians voice concerns over the intimidation and repression as the nation remains in the dark during the ongoing conflict.
