Iqra Ismail: From Footballer to Inspiring Coordinator and Photographer

Iqra Ismail, a British-born Somali footballer, has made significant strides in her career, both on and off the pitch. She recently took on a new role as the Female Refugee Football Project Coordinator for QPR In The Community Trust, following her time as Director of Women's Football at Hilltop Football Club in London.

Ismail's impact extends beyond her playing days. At Hilltop, she welcomed players from underrepresented groups, fostering inclusivity in football. Her dedication to the sport has been recognised with prestigious awards. At just 19, she became the youngest winner of a Black List award.

Off the field, Ismail's photography has also gained international acclaim. Her portrait, 'Stand a Little Less Between Me and the Sunshine', was shortlisted for the esteemed Portrait of Humanity award. Currently, she is employed as a project coordinator for the women's refugee football project at Örebro SK in Sweden.

Ismail's journey from a young footballer to a director and coordinator, as well as a recognised photographer, reflects her passion and dedication. Her work continues to inspire and empower underrepresented groups in football.
