English players spread across IPL and PSL this summer: Evaluating their performance thus far.

IPL and PSL 2025: Performance Analysis of Seventeen English Players in Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League

Here's a lowdown on the 17 English lads gracing the IPL and PSL this summer. Livin' it up or just floppin' around? Let's find out!

Jofra Archer (Rajasthan Royals)

  • 10 wickets @ 40.1, Ec 9.7

Started with the costliest bowl in IPL history, but he's since found a rhythm! His bowling's been costly in the last two games (0-42 & 1-49), but 10 wickets in 11 matches ain't bad, ya know? The standout moment so far? Smashin' Punjab Kings for a 3-25 in Mullanpur!

Will Jacks (Mumbai Indians)

  • 142 runs @ 20.3, SR 122.4 | 5 wickets @ 15.6, Ec 7.1

Most of Jack's impact this season's been with ball in hand! He's turned himself into a reliable option for Mumbai Indians. Batted mostly at No.3 but took a spin down the line a time or two. Impressive 36 (26) and 2-14 against SRH's the standout game so far!

Jos Buttler (Gujarat Titans)

  • 406 runs @ 81.2, SR 168.5

This season's made ol' Jos Buttler an IPL legend, pure and simple! He's slid down to No.3 and formed a powerful top-order with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. 406 runs at an average of 81 and a SR of 168.5? Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs! There's every chance he ends up with an IPL winners' medal!

Phil Salt (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)

  • 239 runs @ 26.6, SR 168.3

Salt's average of 26.6 might not seem impressive, but he's been doing exactly what RCB needs at the top! Gives the franchise a solid start more often than not. His two half-centuries? Both came in successful chases!

Liam Livingstone (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)

  • 87 runs @ 17.4, SR 127.9 | 2 wickets @ 38.0, Ec 8.4

Livin'stone's not had the smoothest time at RCB, with just 87 runs in 7 knocks (half of that in a single innings). Spinin' the ball both ways's come in handy on occasion, but overall struggled to make an impact. Recently, Romario Shepherd's taken his spot as well!

Moeen Ali (Kolkata Knight Riders)

  • 5 runs @ 2.5, SR 35.7 | 3 wickets @ 23.3, Ec 6.4

KKR's up-and-down season's sent Moeen in and out of the side, with no real effect. Opened once and batted at No.8 in his only other innings, scoring 5 and 0 respectively. In bowlin', got a couple of tight spells, but nothing to write home about.

Sam Curran (Chennai Super Kings)

  • 109 runs @ 27.3, SR 138.0 | 0 wickets, Ec 11.0

Despite another poor campaign, Curran's not helped his cause with some ineffective bat swingin'. Improved a bit in his last game, though, smashin' 88 off 47 from No.3 against Punjab Kings in a game CSK eventually lost.

Jamie Overton (Chennai Super Kings)

  • 15 runs, SR 214.3 | 0 wickets, Ec 13.8

Overton's sent down six overs for 83 runs in three matches so far. He's only batted twice, makin' 11* and 4* in those innings. The best part of the season, though? He's yet to be dismissed!

Jacob Bethell (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)

  • 12 runs @ 12.0, SR 200.0

Caught everyone's eye with a stunning boundary save as a sub fielder against Rajasthan Royals, then got in the playin' XI in place of Salt for his only game so far, against Delhi Capitals. Battered six and four off Mitchell Starc, then walked back to the pavilion for 12.

Reece Topley (Mumbai Indians)

Yet to play this season, and ain't likely to unless there's an injury to one of MI's front-line quicks.

Sam Billings (Lahore Qalandars)

  • 159 runs @ 31.8, SR 189.3

Sam Billings's been a pillar of Lahore's middle-order, bringin' quick contributions. Put up three single-digit scores, but also played knocks of 50* (19), 43 (23) and 38* (17). With an upside like that, the inconsistency's no real issue.

James Vince (Karachi Kings)

  • 281 runs @ 46.8, SR 154.4

Left red-ball cricket for this year so he could focus on franchise cricket, and this decision's paid off so far. First PSL knock? League's third-fastest century, which powered Karachi to the league's third-highest run chase. Since then, he's cracked two more fifty-plus scores and remains as reliable as a rock for the Kings at No.3.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore (Peshawar Zalmi)

  • 72 runs @ 12.0, SR 120.0

'TKC' hasn't had the best season in PSL. A paltry 72 runs in six innings, half of those runs came in one innings against bottom team Multan Sultans. His next highest score this year? A measly eight.

David Willey (Multan Sultans)

  • 5 wickets @ 39.8, Ec 10.5

David Willey's been neither restrictive nor incisive in his primary role with the ball. Five wickets in six matches isn't bad, but at an economy rate of over 10 per over, it looks real bad. He did perform well in the last game with 1-24, but Multan's batters surrendered in a weak fashion, consigning them to defeat.

Chris Jordan (Multan Sultans)

  • 3 wickets @ 53.0, Ec 11.9

Chris Jordan's gone through the same struggles as Willey. Three wickets in four games, each costin' 53 runs per wicket, and an economy rate of almost two runs per ball ain't a season he's gonna remember fondly.

Luke Wood (Peshawar Zalmi)

  • 6 wickets @ 18.3, Ec 7.3

Replaced Bangladesh's Nahid Rana for four matches, but he made a real impression, pickin' up six wickets and concedin' over 7 runs per over. Four of those wickets? From fellow foreigners - Tim Seifert, James Vince, David Warner, Daryl Mitchell and Mark Chapman.

Tom Curran (Lahore Qalandars)

  • 2 wickets @ 24.0, Ec 6.9

Little to go on with Curran playin' just three games, but he took 1-24 in both of his first two innings, solid enough returns.

Here are three sentences that contain the given words and follow from the provided text:

  1. Mumbai Indians' all-rounder Will Jacks, although known more for his bowling this season, impressed with 36 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad, showcasing his consistency with the bat and proving himself a reliable option for the team.
  2. MI's Liam Livingstone, despite a difficult time at the Bengaluru franchise, managed 87 runs in 7 knocks, with spin proving useful at times. However, he failed to make a significant impact, with poor averages and high strike rates.
  3. The Rajasthan Royals suffered inconsistencies with bowler Jofra Archer, who started the season with a costly bowl but found rhythm, only to struggle in the last two games. Despite this, his 10 wickets in 11 matches proved valuable, with his most impressive performance being a 3-25 against Punjab Kings.
