Iowa State Fair Queen's Court Expands with Fayette County Fair Queen

Iowa State Fair Queen's Court Expands with Fayette County Fair Queen

In a grand ceremony at the 2025 Iowa State Fair, Riah Schrage from Grundy County was crowned as the new Iowa State Fair Queen, making her the centre of attention among the thousands in attendance.

Accompanying Riah Schrage on the Royal Court was Alexandria Kent, the Fayette County Fair Queen. Alexandria was also named a member of the Royal Court at the Iowa State Fair.

The two young women were chosen out of a pool of 102 contestants, each vying for the prestigious titles. The judging criteria for the contests included personality, attitude, awareness, leadership, citizenship, contributions to the community, overall appearance, charm, and poise.

Riah Schrage's win was not a surprise to those who know her well. She demonstrated a strong sense of leadership and poise throughout the competition, leaving a lasting impression on the judges.

Alexandria Kent, on the other hand, was honoured with the Personality Plus Award. Her charismatic and vibrant personality shone through during the competition, making her a favourite among the crowd.

The first runner-up was Ashlynn Gunnerson from O'Brien County, while Annalise Buxton from Union County took the second runner-up position. Emery Hawkins from Appanoose County was named third runner-up.

In addition to the titles, several contestants were awarded special honours. Kelsey Greenslade from Dallas County was given the Outstanding Leadership Award, while Emily Foran from Audubon County received the Queen Alumni Award.

Each member of the Royal Court was presented with a plaque, a floral bouquet, and a $200 gift card. Alexandria Kent, as the Fayette County Fair Queen, also received a $500 scholarship in recognition of her achievements.

The Iowa State Fair Queen and her Royal Court will represent the fair in various events and appearances throughout the year, promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement. Their reign is set to be an exciting one, filled with opportunities to make a difference and inspire others.
