WSV Rödinghausen is gearing up for two challenging matches in the coming days. On Wednesday, 13th August, they will face TSV Krefeld-Bockum in the Niederrhein Cup at the Zoo Stadium, followed by a clash against Borussia Dortmund U23 on Sunday, 17th August.

The outcome of both matches is uncertain, as the teams from Rödinghausen and Krefeld-Bockum have shown varying form in recent games. WSV Rödinghausen started the season with a 0:3 loss in Siegen but bounced back with a convincing 3:0 derby win against SSVg. Velbert. On the other hand, TSV Krefeld-Bockum has given up home advantage for the match against WSV.

Coach Tyrala remains optimistic about the team's performance, promising that they will give their all in the upcoming matches. He also expects the team to field a squad that can secure a win. However, nine players are currently unavailable for the team, which could impact their performance.

Fortunately, At least Kadi Atmaca and Alessio Arambasic should be back by the Borussia Dortmund U23 match on 17th August. This will provide a much-needed boost to the squad, as they look to avoid a second home defeat.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund U23 have had a challenging start to the 2025-26 season. They suffered losses to Fortuna Köln (0:2) and a heavy defeat at Rödinghausen (0:5). However, they later showed positive performance in a 2:2 draw with Siegen and a 1-0 friendly win over ASC 09 Dortmund.

Dortmund U23 are currently facing personnel shortages due to players being called up to the Bundesliga squad, plus several injuries and illnesses. This has forced the coaching staff to improvise heavily in training and likely affects the upcoming lineup choices. Specific injured players are not named in the sources, but the coach Mike Tullberg acknowledges the challenge of preparing a full-strength squad.

Patrick Dupont and Lennart Hensen will assist referee Ivan Mrkalj from DJK Viktoria Buchheim in the WSV's match against TSV Krefeld-Bockum, while Hans-Juraj Hartmann, Daiki Kamo, and Toskiaki Miyamoto made a convincing debut in Velbert.

WSV Rödinghausen will be hoping to build on their derby win and use the home advantage to secure a positive result against TSV Krefeld-Bockum on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund U23 will be looking to turn their fortunes around when they face WSV Rödinghausen on Sunday. Both matches promise to be exciting encounters, with the outcomes uncertain.
