Invitations dispatched to Provincial Nominee Program and Atlantica Immigration Pilot candidates in Newfoundland and Labrador

The Newfoundland and Labrador Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) has recently issued 359 invitations to apply (ITAs) for provincial immigration. These invitations were distributed through both the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

The OIM has designated certain occupations in demand in the Health Care, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Aquaculture, and ICT-Technical Specialist sectors. Notable in-demand Health Care sector occupations include Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Practical Nurse, Personal Care Attendant, Clinical Psychologist, Medical Physicist, Radiation Therapist, and Dosimetrist. In the ICT Sector, Engineers and Developers such as Software Developer, Biomedical Engineer, UI/UX Developer, Electrical Engineer, AI Developer, Mechanical Engineer, Python Developer, Web Developer, .NET Developer, Infrastructure Engineer are highly sought after. Technical Specialists like Security Specialist, Cloud Specialist, Bioinformatician, Computer Network Support, Research Associate, Data Analytics, Offshore Technician, ROV Operator, Ocean Mapping Specialist, and Technical Writer are also in demand.

In the Aquaculture Sector, Captain (with FM4 certification), Farming and Feeding Manager, Facility Technician, Assistant Manager, Cage Site Technician, Site Manager (with water quality expertise), and Area Manager are in-demand occupations.

Candidates should pay close attention to the "main duties" and "description" section for each NOC entry to better understand which NOC code and title is appropriate to their occupation or professional experience. It's worth noting that NOC codes and titles are primarily categorized by their duties, so a candidate may meet the definition of a position without holding the job title.

To be considered for an ITA, candidates need to have a job or job offer in Newfoundland and Labrador, and an employer invitation code (if necessary). Candidates will only be considered for an ITA if their Expressions of Interest (EOI) profile is aligned with "labour market needs and ongoing interests of the province."

Foreign nationals who have valid work authorization in Canada do not require an employer invitation code for the NLPNP, but they are required for candidates who need job vacancy assessments and all AIP candidates. Candidates should contact the OIM to request a National Occupation Classification (NOC) code and title corresponding to the selected occupation.

More information on the NLPNP can be found on the dedicated webpage. For those seeking to find their NOC code and assess their eligibility for enhanced PNP streams, there is a dedicated webpage available. Expressions of interest (EOIs) that do not declare employment, or an employment offer, and/or those that do not have an employer invitation code (if needed) are not eligible to receive an ITA to immigrate to Newfoundland and Labrador.

On July 10, the OIM issued a total of 300 ITAs through the NLPNP, and 59 ITAs through the AIP. It's an exciting time for those seeking opportunities in Newfoundland and Labrador, as the province continues to grow and evolve, offering a wide range of career prospects across various sectors.
