Investigative Hearings Modeled after the January 6 Committee for the Examination of 'Obamagate' Incident
Larry Elder, a renowned national radio host and former presidential candidate, has expressed optimism about the prospect of committee-style hearings on the Russia Hoax, a controversial narrative that alleges misconduct within the Obama administration during the 2016 election.
These proposed hearings could potentially provide insight into the Russia Hoax, a topic that has been the subject of ongoing Congressional transparency efforts. The latest developments in this regard include the release of a formerly classified appendix to the Durham Special Counsel Report by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on July 31, 2025, and the declassification of a House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) majority staff report from 2020 by the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rick Crawford on July 23, 2025.
The Durham annex exposes documents alleging a Clinton campaign plan to falsely link President Trump to Russia, while the HPSCI report accuses President Obama of directing the creation of a false January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment to undermine President Trump after his 2016 election victory. Both reports criticize the FBI under James Comey for failing to investigate evidence suggesting the Russia collusion narrative was manufactured.
If these committee-style hearings were to take place, Elder believes they would serve as a deterrent to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future. He also believes that they would make the American people aware of what happened during the Russia Hoax, asserting that they would be truthful.
Should the hearings occur, they may be televised by conservative outlets like Fox News, although it is unclear whether mainstream media would also broadcast them. Elder is confident that at least a significant portion of the American public will be able to see the hearings, regardless of media coverage.
Elder refers to the Russia Hoax as 'Obamagate', reflecting the ongoing Congressional investigations into alleged misconduct by the Obama administration during the 2016 election. While no specific new congressional committee hearings exclusively branded as "Obamagate" hearings have been announced, these report releases and declassifications signal continuing Congressional scrutiny consistent with Elder’s calls for accountability through committee investigations.
