Are we looking at a tornado in Ulm-Donaustetten, Baden-Württemberg? The German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach is eyeing the possibility, but it's not a done deal yet.

A brief tornado isn't out of the question, says DWD meteorologist Adrian Leyser Storm. But only a thorough on-site assessment can provide the final answer. This little investigation will likely unfold over the next few days.

Initially, the DWD in Stuttgart was somewhat skeptical about a tornado taking place. They suggested it might have been just one of those wild storms we've been having lately. However, fire department reports from eyewitnesses in Ulm have shifted the weather gurus' stance a bit.

There was significant damage due to the severe storms on Wednesday, with powerful winds ripping through houses in Donaustetten district. But thankfully, no injuries were reported. Fire officials, equipped with detective-like skills, think a mini tornado or waterspout might have been the culprit behind the damage.

The DWD is now on the case, tirelessly working to figure out if a tornado, indeed, made an appearance in Ulm-Donaustetten. No definitive results have been delivered yet, but they're giving it their all[1][2][3].

Meanwhile, the Wednesday storms managed to impact air travel too, notably causing a Ryanair flight to make an emergency landing due to turbulence. But the focus right now is undoubtedly on the potential tornado in Ulm-Donaustetten and the DWD's ongoing investigation.

Stay tuned for more updates!
