German Weather Service (DWD) interrogates the likelihood of a tornado sweeping through Ulm-Donaustetten. The DWD head honcho, Adrian Leyser, delivers goods stating that there's a decent chance a tornado has made an appearance in that region between last night and today. "We're only cracking open the door for the possibility of a brief tornado. The damage assessment, which should commence shortly, will shed some light on the matter."
Initially, the DWD team in Stuttgart was quite skeptical about the prospect of a tornado. "We're more about the religion of doubt. Our gut feeling leans towards it not being a tornado," a meteorologist rather coldly expressed in the morning. Local firefighters in Ulm spilled the beans that eyewitnesses were reporting a possible tornado.
Reports indicate substantial damage in the Donaustetten district near Ulm, where fierce winds ripped the roofs off several row houses, turning them into unlivable nightmares. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Fire officials reckon that a mini tornado or waterspout could be responsible for the destruction, with the DWD diving deep into the investigation.
Some sources, however, claim that the DWD is still on the fence about the case, as a conclusive verdict is yet to be made. Storm-related damage has been widespread across southern Germany, with more storms predicted for the region.
