Investigation on five individuals linked to extreme right-wing graffiti in Allstedt has been halted
In the heart of Saxony-Anhalt, a series of concerning incidents have been reported, with right-wing motivated crimes taking centre stage.
On Ascension Day, the police reported brawling, hooliganism, and paroles, as well as other right-wing motivated crimes. Incidents were recorded in Magdeburg and Altmarkkreis Salzwedel, where unknown individuals shouted constitutional paroles and displayed symbols from the Nazi era.
In May, vandalism occurred in Allstedt, with several buildings, including the town hall, defaced with swastikas and right-wing slogans. The damage amounted to approximately 35,000 euros. The investigation into this incident was closed in September due to insufficient evidence, despite the initial investigation of four suspects.
A new incident was reported on August 31, 2025, when unknown individuals dug swastikas into the grass on a soccer field in Allstedt. The city and the club have condemned this act.
The "Glowing Horizons" exhibition, featuring installations and art actions, opened in the city center on May 17 and will run until October 5. The exhibition was not spared from the vandalism, with a banner from the "Art in Public Spaces" project being affected just a few days before the incident.
In a separate development, the song "L'Amour toujours" by Gigi D'Agostino has been associated with right-wing paroles. This has caused a divide among clubs and DJs in Saxony-Anhalt, with opinions differing on how to handle the song.
Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Culture, Rainer Robra, expressed deep shock over the attacks, describing them as an attack on democratic values. The state protection is currently investigating the incident in Allstedt.
All suspects involved in the various incidents have denied the allegations. It's important to note that the names of the suspects in the Allstedt vandalism case in 2025 were not disclosed.
These incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of upholding democratic values and combating hate speech and discrimination. The authorities are working diligently to investigate these incidents and bring those responsible to justice.
