Investigation into Terroristic Financing: J&K Investigative Unit Conducts Multiple Raid Operations

The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir has made a significant breakthrough in its investigation into a terror funding case involving cross-border cryptocurrency transactions. The agency conducted simultaneous raids at three locations - Jammu, Doda, and Handwara - as part of an ongoing probe under FIR No. 12/2022 filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections related to terror financing and conspiracy.

The raids uncovered financial networks using cryptocurrency to channel funds from cross-border sources to fuel terrorism and destabilize peace in the region. The investigation has yielded vital evidence, including electronic devices and recovered articles, considered a breakthrough in exposing these clandestine terror financing mechanisms.

The search operations also targeted individuals allegedly inciting youth against the Union of India, thereby threatening national security. The evidence collected is expected to help the authorities identify and apprehend co-conspirators and accomplices involved in orchestrating these anti-national activities.

The SIA emphasized that these efforts represent a determined crackdown on sophisticated terror funding methods, including cryptocurrency, which is being increasingly exploited to perpetuate violence and radicalization in Jammu and Kashmir. The agency remains committed to pursuing the investigation further to apprehend all involved parties and safeguard the sovereignty of the region.

The action is a crucial move in the ongoing crackdown against terror financing networks and logistical support systems aiding terrorist organisations and their affiliates. The attachment of bank credits was carried out following due approval from the competent authority under the UAPA. The case is being investigated under Sections 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38, 39, 40 of the UAPA and Section 7/25 of the Arms Act. J&K police attached bank credits amounting to ₹18,93,426, identified as proceeds of terrorism, in connection with FIR No. 105/2024 registered at Police Station Sopore.

It is important to note that the details about the individuals or groups involved in the case remain undisclosed by the spokesman. Additionally, no new information was given about any arrests made during the raids or any political alliance or event named "Shinde Ties Up With Anandraj Ambedkar", which seems unrelated to the SIA raids and ongoing investigation.

The location of the Police Station CI-SIA Kashmir where the case was registered was not specified. This information is crucial for a comprehensive understanding of the case, but it remains unavailable at this time.

Despite these uncertainties, the progress made in the investigation offers hope for a safer and more secure Jammu and Kashmir. The SIA's commitment to rooting out terrorism and its support systems, including cryptocurrency-based funding, is commendable and essential in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
