In the quiet town of Mitchell, Ontario, population just over 4,800, a storm of controversy has erupted following the Poppa Pie's Adventures Golf Tournament that took place on Aug. 2. The event, which was hosted by Jamie Petrie and his business, Poppa Pie's, was described by comedy hypnotist Elijah Edwards as a "sold out, high-energy, and packed with some of the most incredible audience vibes I've ever seen."

However, the Perth County OPP is currently investigating allegations of sexual acts occurring during the tournament. The Stratford Fighting Irish, a western Ontario Super Hockey League team, has distanced itself from Jamie Petrie, the former owner, issuing a statement condemning the "lewd acts" that allegedly took place.

The Mitchell Golf and Country Club, which hosted the event, has not responded to requests for comment. Similarly, attempts to reach out to Elijah Edwards and Jamie Petrie for comment were unsuccessful.

The investigation has left many questions unanswered, including who organized the tournament and what exactly transpired. The search results do not provide information about the organizer of the Aug. 2, 2022 event.

In a video posted in April, Poppa Pie's was described as a full non-profit organization, with money raised through apparel sales and events supporting charities. However, as of publication time, the Facebook page and website for Poppa Pie's appear to have been taken down.

Videos of the Poppa Pie's Adventures Golf Tournament have been circulating, with some describing the event as having an "Ontario turned Vegas" vibe. The Stratford Fighting Irish, in its statement, also referred to the tournament as a "debauchery."

The investigation is ongoing, and the Perth County OPP is asking anyone with information about the alleged incidents to contact them. The details about the allegations and how many people were involved have not been provided by police.

The Poppa Pie's Adventures Golf Tournament, despite the controversy, marked a significant event in the small town of Mitchell, Ontario. The town, located outside of Stratford, has been in the limelight due to the investigation, with the events of Aug. 2 continuing to unfold.
