Intrudes abruptly onto the tarmac of Linate Airport, taking a seated position
In an unusual incident at Milan Linate Airport, a foreign man caused a brief interruption of flights on Tuesday morning. The man, who has yet to be confirmed in his identity, climbed over the outer fence of the high-security area and reached the runway around 10:30 AM.
The commander of an aircraft in the process of landing alerted the control tower to the man's presence on the runway, leading to the immediate activation of the emergency protocol. Air traffic was suspended for a brief period due to the man's presence on the runway, but fortunately, it caused no inconvenience or delays.
Sea's security staff stopped the man and handed him over to the border police due to lack of identification. The man was found to have only a tax code belonging to a 30-year-old man from Tunisia. Initial checks suggest that the intrusion was not an act of derangement.
Following his intrusion, the man was taken to Fatebenefratelli Hospital for medical checks. Later in the day, he will be accompanied to the police station for further identification and investigation. The motives behind the man's actions are still unknown and under police investigation.
The incident occurred at Milan Linate Airport, managed by Sea. The man did not show any signs of violent or terrorist intentions, and his presence on the runway was considered a safety risk. The police are working diligently to confirm the man's identity and understand the reasons for his actions.
