A man attempted to crash the finish line of stage 17 of the Tour de France on Wednesday afternoon, potentially as a stunt. The individual, a 31-year-old local from Montélimar, managed to get on the course despite the barriers and close surveillance.

Dressed in a Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale jersey, the man rode across the finish line just before the peloton arrived. He was quickly tackled and arrested by a member of the Compagnies Republicaines de Securite (CRS), French riot police.

The motives behind the man's actions remain unclear. It appears to have been a stunt or prank rather than a protest or political act, unlike a previous finish line intrusion at the race in Toulouse on stage 11, which was a pro-Palestine protest.

The man seemed to be hurt during the incident, but no further information about his condition has been released. The Tour's organizers, ASO, did not comment on the incident, and the television broadcast did not show the event. However, it was captured by photographers.

This is the second time in a week that the Tour de France has faced people getting on the finish of the race course. In the previous incident, a pro-Palestine protestor jumped onto the road near the finish line in Toulouse. Like this latest incident, no comment has been made about the man's motives for the action.

Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) won the bunch sprint during stage 17 of the Tour de France, but this fact is not directly related to the man's actions. The incident has caused a stir, with many questioning the security measures in place for such high-profile events.

The man's actions, involving an apparent stunt or prank as he rode onto the finish line of stage 17 of the Tour de France, echo a similar incident the previous week when a pro-Palestine protestor intruded on stage 11.
