Toyota Times Spotlights New Executive Team in Two-Week Series

President Koji Sato welcomed 1,400 new Toyota employees at the company's headquarters on April 3, marking the start of a two-week focus on the new executive team by Toyota Times. The series aims to peel back rarely-seen layers and provide a glimpse into the personal lives of the top brass at Toyota.

During the first episode, President Sato shared his love for mame daifuku, often referred to as the "Lexus of the mame daifuku world." He also discussed his favourite cars, including models such as the Century, Lexus, and Yaris, which were displayed at the ceremony to make new recruits feel like carmakers.

Vice President Hiroki Nakajima, on the other hand, chose a common Japanese restaurant as his favourite, a place where he often enjoys the "holy trinity" of dishes. Vice President Yoichi Miyazaki selected the Crown as his favourite car memory.

The program also featured a segment dedicated to the memories of President Sato, Vice President Miyazima, and other unmentioned employees about their favourite cars. Each segment highlighted the individual personalities of the five operating officers: Tetsuo Ogawa, Tatsuro Ueda, Jun Nagata, Simon Humphries, and Kazuaki Shingo.

In addition to discussing their favourite dishes and cars, the executives also shared their preferred ways to spend their outings. President Sato's top dish is meant to be enjoyed in a relaxing space, while Vice President Nakajima's chosen restaurant is a common sight in Japanese cities.

The series concludes with profiles of the remaining five Toyota operating officers, offering a unique insight into the lives of those who lead the automotive giant.

However, the favourite restaurants of Toyota's new executive team members, as featured in Toyota Times, are not publicly available based on current search results. The series does provide a tantalising glimpse into the personal lives of these influential figures, offering a refreshing change from the usual focus on business and leadership.
